What is agave sugar?
Most people know agave syrup better than agave sugar. But both of them are made from the juice of the agave. The juice is heated, filtered and results in a clear agave syrup. The syrup can then be further thickened, dried and ground into a powder to produce agave sugar.
The light, fine powder may not be quite like ordinary sugar, but it is very popular because it is very sweet and has a neutral taste. Its glycaemic index is also very low compared to ordinary sugar because it contains a high proportion of fructose. This means blood sugar levels do not rise as much after eating.
Use of agave sugar with ginger
Our organic agave sugar with ginger can be used like any other well-known flavoured sugar and adds a great fruity, fresh note to baked goods, creams, desserts and ice cream – naturally completely vegan. We only use raw materials from controlled organic farming.
