Chocolate Chunk Brownies

American-style brownies – we love these little chocolatey squares on this side of the pond, too. Their fudgy mouthfeel and delicious flavour make brownies one of the most popular US exports.

Dark-brown, moist and with an extra helping of chocolate – that doesn’t just describe the best brownie recipes. It describes our chocolate chunk brownies! These little treats are so quick and easy to make that no other recipe can keep up. Even the brownie baking tin is included!

What else you’ll need

  • 125 g butter
  • 1 medium egg
  • 100 ml water

Preparation

Prepare the baking tray

  1. Preheat a conventional oven to around 180 °C (fan approx. 160 °C) and fold the baking tray according to the instructions, bending the top of the edges outwards.

Make the dough

  1. Put the butter in a pan, melt and leave to cool a little. Put the baking mix, egg, liquid butter and water in a mixing bowl and blend with the electric hand mixer (whisk) briefly on the lowest setting at first, then on the highest setting for around 3 minutes, until creamy.
  2. Put the dough in the prepared baking tray, smooth out and scatter with milk chocolate chunks.

Bake

  1. Now you can sprinkle the chocolate shavings evenly over the mix and bake the brownie on the middle shelf of a preheated oven for around 25 minutes.
  2. Once baked, put the brownie on a wire rack, leave to cool, loosen the edges of the tray carefully using a knife and cut the bake into pieces.

baking mixture (sugar, {wheat} flour, fat reduced cocoa powder, starch, salt, flavouring), milk chocolate pieces (sugar, whole {milk} powder, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, emulsifier: lecithins; natural vanilla flavouring).
