Who doesn’t know and love vanilla sugar? Whether as a flavouring for cakes, pastries, creams or even ice cream, sugar is always popular and can be used everywhere.
But if you prefer sugar alternatives and would rather not use refined sugar, you will love our coconut blossom tonka sugar!
What is coconut blossom sugar?
Coconut blossom sugar is extracted from the flower heads of the coconut palm tree. To do this, an incision is made in the flower bud stem, and the nectar is collected as it flows out. The nectar is then filtered and boiled down until the liquid has completely evaporated. What remains is a fine-grained brown sugar that looks rather like raw cane sugar. Contrary to what you might expect, coconut blossom sugar does not taste like coconut. It has more of a malty, caramel taste.
Coconut blossom sugar is different from ordinary sugar and sugar alternatives because it contains micronutrients. It is rich in iron, magnesium and also potassium.
