Rainbow Muffins

Who doesn’t love muffins? Those handy little cakes you can pick up and eat.

They’re ideal for every occasion: as a little snack at your desk, at coffee with friends or a tasty addition to any birthday spread. In all kinds of flavours, whether sweet, salty, fruity or savoury, they’re sure to impress.

Our rainbow muffins with their light sponge mix, red glaze and colourful sprinkles are sure to catch the eye and lift the heart. These little bakes are easy to make in a few simple steps. Whether for a birthday party or a sophisticated gift – these colourful muffins are sure to go down well.


What else you’ll need

For the dough:

  • 2 medium eggs
  • 125 ml cooking oil
  • 100 ml water

For the glaze:

  • 15 ml (approx. 1 – 2 tbsp) lukewarm water


Make the dough

  1. Preheat a conventional oven to around 200 °C (fan approx. 180 °C).
  2. Put the baking mix, eggs, cooking oil and water in a mixing bowl and mix with an electric hand mixer (whisk) briefly on the lowest setting first of all, then on the highest setting for around 1 minute, until creamy.
  3. Take out one tablespoon of the chocolate chips and mix the rest into the dough.


  1. Now place the 12 muffin cases onto a baking tray.
  2. Distribute the dough equally between the cases using 2 tablespoons and decorate with the remaining chocolate chips.
  3. Bake the muffins on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Use a wooden skewer to check the muffins are baked through before taking them out of the oven.
  4. After baking, place the muffins on a wire rack to cool.
  5. Mix the glazing mix with lukewarm water until smooth and spread the glaze on the muffins.
  6. Scatter sugar sprinkles on the glaze while still moist.


Baking mixture: wheat flour, sugar, wheat starch, whey powder, modified starch, raising agents (diphosphates, sodium carbonates), salt.

Icing mixture: sugar, modified starch, colouring food beetroot powder, acid citric acid, flavouring, colour carotenes.

Sugar vermicelli (4,7 %): sugar, coconut oil, glucose syrup, colours (carmines, patent Blue V, curcumin, carotenes), glazing agent carnauba wax.
