We know from childhood that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In the morning, our energy tank is running on empty and needs to be filled back up again. After all, we want to be able to spend our whole day working, studying or exercising, full of vim and vigour. We need a hearty breakfast that will replenish our energy and, most importantly, taste delicious – such as a warm protein porridge.
But what actually is porridge?
Porridge has been a staple of the British breakfast table for many years and is known as oatmeal in the US. Porridge is currently enjoying a resurgence. And for good reason – it’s full of complex carbohydrates, valuable nutrients, minerals and fibre and plant-based proteins. For that extra helping of protein, our protein porridge, with up to 40% less sugar and 17 g protein per portion, is the perfect meal – not just in the morning, but also as an energy boost between meals or after exercise.
