Our white ready to roll fondant icing is a must for all tart artistes and cake decorators. The malleable icing is an ideal way to cover the entire cake. It can also work well as a base for lots of little decorations. Simply dust the worktop with a little powdered sugar or baking starch first, then start rolling. The smooth and supple consistency of the fondant icing makes it easy to shape and work with. It’s easy to create refined and extraordinary cake designs for every occasion – let your imagination run wild.
1. Roll out
Knead the fondant icing until it’s soft and supple. Roll it out thinly on a worktop lightly dusted with cornflour.
Spread the cake thinly from the outside with a little jam, for example, so the fondant icing sticks to the cake. Place the rolled out fondant over the cake, press lightly with your hands and rub smooth.
Cut off any excess around the edges with a sharp knife. Use RUF Decorative Fondant Icing to colourfully decorate the cake as desired.
Wrap the remaining fondant icing in the opened sachet until airtight and store in a cool place. Knead the fondant again before you work with it.
