Fine Marzipan Cake

Marzipan is known to split opinion. Some love it, while others can’t stand it. But as we’re firmly in the marzipan camp, we’ve created a tasty marzipan loaf cake for you.

Our fine marzipan cake is wonderfully moist and light. The fragrant flavour of marzipan is topped off by the crisp chocolate glaze. This sweet treat is easy to make in your own kitchen. So there’s more time to enjoy it together.

What else you’ll need

For the dough:

  • 150 g soft margarine or butter
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 75 ml milk (1.5% fat)

For the baking tin:

  • A little grease and wheat flour

Preparation

Make the dough

  1. Preheat a conventional oven to 180 °C (fan approx. 160 °C).
  2. Put the baking mix, soft margarine or butter, eggs, milk and marzipan filling in a mixing bowl and mix with an electric hand mixer (whisk) briefly on the lowest setting at first, then on the highest setting for around 3 minutes, until creamy.

Bake

  1. Grease a loaf tin (approx. 25 cm) and dust with flour. Add and smooth out the dough.
  2. Bake the cake on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for around 60 minutes. After around 15 minutes’ baking time, make a cut lengthwise in the middle of the cake around 1 cm deep and use a wooden skewer to check whether the cake is ready before taking it out of the oven.

Cool and glaze

  1. After baking, remove the cake from the tin and place on a wire rack to cool.
  2. Once the cake has cooled, place the sachet of glaze in boiling hot water and leave to soak for 10-15 minutes. Cut open the sachet and spread the liquid glaze onto the cooled cake with a knife.

We recommend baking the mix in a conventional oven.

baking mixture: wheat flour, sugar, starch, baking powder (acid diphosphates, raising agent sodium carbonates), emulsifiers (E 475, E 471), salt, flavouring.

marzipan filling (16,2%): sugar, 27% marzipan raw mass (almonds, sugar, water, bitter almonds), modified starch, gelling agent pectins.

cocoa contaning fat glaze (15,2%): sugar, vegetable fats (palm, cocos, shea), fat reduced cocoa powder (20%), lactose, emulsifiers lecithins.
