Gluten-free marble cake

If you suffer from gluten intolerance or coeliac disease, thanks to our gluten-free cake mixes, you don’t have to give up to delicious and easy cake recipes. Our popular marble cake is now also available gluten-free.

Wonderfully moist and light, our marble cake is remarkable for its classic marble effect combining light sponge and dark chocolate dough. This classic is always welcome at children’s parties, coffee mornings or birthday celebrations. It’s so easy to make, you can whip up a delicious cake in just a few simple steps – it’s that easy to enjoy gluten-free.


What else you’ll need

For the dough:

  • 200 g soft margarine or butter
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1 tbsp water for the dark dough

For the baking tin:

  • A little starch


Make the dough

  1. Preheat a conventional oven to around 180°C (fan approx. 160°C). Grease a loaf tin (25 cm) and dust it with starch.
  2. Put the baking mix, soft margarine or butter and the eggs in a mixing bowl and mix with an electric hand mixer (whisk) briefly on the lowest setting at first, then on the highest setting for around 3 minutes, until creamy.


  1. Now add 2/3 of the dough to the loaf tin and mix the cocoa mixture into the rest of the dough with a tablespoon of water. Then spread the dark dough onto the light dough and use a fork to create spiral shapes through both layers of dough, producing a marble structure.
  2. Bake the cake on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for around 60 minutes. After around 15 minutes’ baking time, make a cut lengthwise in the cake around 1 cm deep.
  3. Use a wooden skewer to check whether the cake is ready before taking it out of the oven. After baking, remove the cake from the tray and place on a wire rack to cool.


baking mixture: corn starch, sugar, corn flour, rice flour, humectant sorbitol, baking powder (acid diphosphates, raising agent sodium hydrogen carbonate), thickener guar gum, flavouring, salt.

cocoa mix (7 %): sugar, fat reduced cocoa powder (40 %).
