Onion Tart

It doesn’t always have to be sweet! A savoury cake is something very special too. Onion tart is a popular savoury delicacy. It’s great as a main course with a lovely glass of wine or as an addition to a lavish buffet.

An onion tart is a delicious meal, not just in autumn, but all year round. If only you didn’t have to chop all those onions. We can help with that. With our version, you can whip up a tasty onion tart in just a few simple steps, and you don’t even need to chop all those onions!

The onion mix is already included in the pack and just needs to be stirred in. Our onion tart creates a unique atmosphere over dinner with friends and family and a bottle of good wine.


What else you’ll need

For the dough:

  • 100 ml water
  • 20 ml (approx. 2 tbsp) cooking oil

For the onion filling:

  • 500 ml milk (1.5% fat)
  • 100-200 g diced ham if desired
  • a little wheat flour for the worktop


Make the filling

  1. First of all, preheat a conventional oven to around 220 °C (fan approx. 200 °C) and line a springform tin (26 cm in diameter) with baking paper.
  2. Then put the onion mixture in a bowl. Add the milk and ham and mix until even.

Make the dough

  1. For the dough, put the baking mix, water and cooking oil into a mixing bowl. Knead using an electric hand mixer (dough hook) on the lowest setting, then on the highest setting for around 2 minutes. Shape the dough into a ball on a worktop dusted with flour and leave to rest for around 5 minutes.


  1. Roll out the dough in a circular shape until it is around 4 cm bigger than the base of the springform. Then add the dough to the springform tin and press in an edge around 2 cm tall.
  2. You can now place the onion filling on the dough and smooth it out. Bake the onion tart on the middle shelf of a preheated oven.
