What else you’ll need

For the dough:

  • 100 g soft butter
  • 1 medium egg

For the filling:

  • approx. 1 kg apples
  • 500 ml water

For the cream:

  • 250 g cold cream

Preparation

Make the dough

  1. Preheat a conventional oven to around 175 °C (fan approx. 150 °C) and line a springform tin (26 cm in diameter) with baking paper.
  2. Now put the baking mix, soft butter and egg in a mixing bowl and mix into a dough with an electric hand mixer (dough hook). Put the dough into the lined springform tin and press down firmly on the crumbs on the base and the outside, creating an edge around 2 cm tall

Make the filling and bake

  1. The apples then need to be prepared: Wash, peel and core the apples and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Then mix the cream powder with around 5 tbsp water. Bring the rest of the water to the boil and add the mixed cream powder, stirring constantly. Briefly leave to boil and stir in the apple pieces.
  3. Now the apple mixture can be placed in the springform tin and smoothed out. Bake the pie on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for around 60 minutes.

Cool and decorate

  1. When baked through, the pie should be left to cool in the tray for around 2 hours.
  2. When the pie has cooled, remove it from the tray. Then beat the cold cream into stiff peaks, spread over the pie and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Tip: The pie also tastes great when prepared a day before serving. Simply chill the pie overnight and decorate with cream and cinnamon sugar mix on the day of serving
